As far as awards, this film on my top 10 teens movies list. It is the one with the highest number of awards receiving, the award for Best Picture Director, Actor, and Director (Tom Hanks) and Adapted Screenplay, Visual Effects, and Film Editing.
It is based on the same name novel written by Winston Groom. The story is about a mentally challenged and extremely adorable Forrest Gump who manages to appear in the most memorable moments in American history (1944 – 1982.) The bonus is watching beautiful Robin Wright, way before her Claire Underwood/House of Cards times.
Good Will Hunting (1997)
The film which put career paths of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon (Academy Award, Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay with Affleck) on the map also features Robin Williams (Academy Award, Best Supporting Actor). Damon is a brilliant, but misguided college dropout, working as a janitor in MIT. Williams as the therapist who is determined to reach his troubled patient.
Watching the current superstars Damon and Affleck performing in their 20s in this wonderful film is a thrilling experience. Boston people will enjoy the scene and accents.
Moneyball (2011) – Best Teens Movies
We are awestruck by every word the author Michael Lewis has put on paper. We strongly recommend Moneyball the Art of Winning an Unfair game. The film, which is based on the book, won the Academy Award for Best Picture. And also Brad Pitt (Best Male Actor) for his empathetic portrayal of Billy Bean, general manager of the Oakland A’s, and Jonah Hill (Best Supporting Actor) as Ivy League’s smart Assistant General Manager Peter Brand.
This real story where a financially weak baseball team won the record of 20 games in a row, an American League record, by developing a new method for discovering talent is inspiring and memorable.
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
The epic tragedy and the extreme brutality of war that Academy Award winning director Steven Spielberg created here is an illustration of the battleground. If you have a child who has been studying WWII this film will bring vividly to life classes. It is set in the Invasion of Normandy, it shows the search for a paratrooper private Ryan (Matt Damon) who is the last brother of four soldiers. The film won four additional awards.
Clueless (1995) – Awesome Teens Movie
Clueless received 6 awards. Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone) is an aspiring high school student from Beverly Hills who struggles to make it through the adolescent years. At first she seems very attractive, but everything is not as it seems when she helps the girl name Tai. The film is worth watching especially if you’re a Paul Rudd fan,
8th Graduation (2018) – Great Teens Movie
If you’re struggling to remember what it was about being in the eighth grade, you’ve come to the right place. Kayla is so shy that she mainly communicates via social media. This is Kayla’s last week in the 8th grade, and she’s determined to make the experience perfect before moving to high school.
Legally Blonde (2001)
I love the way Reese Witherspoon portrays her character of Elle Wood. A shopping-focused coed in pink who’s determination to prove her intellect to her ex-boyfriend gets her enrollment in his course as a student at Harvard Law School. Improbable? Sure! But we can see Elle overcame stereotypes and discrimination to become a celebrity with her core values, loyalties and fashion. What’s not to like about a young lady who is able to handle all of that?
Men in Black (1997) – Funny Teens Movie
I’m not sure if there’s a better comedy pair than Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith in Men in Black. The description of film by Wikipedia as a “science fiction buddy cop action comedy,”. The fusion of genres and the abundance of talents with lead roles makes me want to watch it every time.
Two vigilantes (Jones and Smith) supervise extraterrestrial life on earth . They generally try to save the world. They look cool in their dark shades while doing it. If you or your teenage are enjoying this film then you should go to the sequels: MIB2 and MIB3.
13 Going on 30 (2004)
Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo are the stars of this rom-com comedy which is awe-inspiring as their grown-up 13-year-old counterparts. They play as neighbors from next door and best buddies. Jenna Rink (Garner) and Matt Flamhaff (Ruffalo) face the struggles of middle-school life when Jenna was embarrassed by mean-spirited youngsters on her 13th birthday party.
In the following scene, she appeared to be a 30-year-old , confused about why her present life differs from her imagination. The soundtrack features hits from the 1980s to 2000s and, specifically, “Thriller” by Michael Jackson.
Friday Night Lights (2004) – Teens Movie
This for those who always had love of any film about the small-town game within The Lone Star State. No matter where you are and your passion for football, the film is captivating in its portrayal of the high school friendships and families, make up the fabric of the community. Moreover, on the basis of book “Friday Night Lights: A Town, a Team and a Dream by H.G. Bissinger, the movie then became a TV show.
